Mick Schumacher was under constant pressure for failing to score points since his debut in Formula 1 last season .He is now relieved man after scoring his first Formula1 points in British GP .
It was the Haas team’s first double point finish since 2019’s German Grand Prix. Though the team had a frustrating qualifying session , a multi car crash at the start of the race provided an opportunity for the team to fight for the points .Kevin Magnussen finished P10 .
The team made a perfect strategy call to pit Mick under a late safety car for fresh softer tyres .This made him move up from P10 to P8 after the restart .
He had a fantastic battle with Max Verstappen for P7 till the chequered flag , but could manage only P8 .Mick revealed that the victory felt great and hopes to score more points in the coming races .
In an interview , Mick said , “We’re really happy. Coming back from P19, I said we have the speed to go forwards and we definitely showed it today. It’s great for the team, a double-finish in the points, so that’s obviously very helpful in the constructors. For me, I’m happy now to focus on what’s really important and that’s the racing and the driving.”
Haas is currently in eighth place in constructors’ championship .
