Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc put in a fantastic display at home to take pole position for the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix .
Leclerc , who has raced in Monaco GP six times ,has never made it into the finish line .However , this time he hopes to win the Monaco GP.
With rain showers expected late in the afternoon , Leclerc says he is ready for the fight .
In a recent chat with RacingNews365 , he said ,”I don’t think I’ve ever driven in the wet here, not of what I remember.”
“It’s going to be tricky. I mean, city tracks are very tricky. Monaco is probably one of the most challenging tracks of the season and, in the wet, I’m sure that it’s even tougher.
“We are ready for it. I think the last few years have been difficult for us in the wet but this year we seem to make it work. We’ll see, but we’ll be fine.”
Monaco Curse :
On his Monaco curse , Leclerc said , “I don’t believe in that. I’m not superstitious at all .We’ve had a smooth, smooth weekend until now.”
“We’re starting in the best place possible so, hopefully, we have a clean race tomorrow and we finally had a good result.”
Team Orders :
Leclerc stated that he did not want to rely on team orders , he said ,”Red Bull have made it clear, what their intentions are. And they did it very early in the season “.
“Concerning us, I haven’t spoken about it with Mattia, and I haven’t heard anything about it .I will definitely not be the one making those types of decisions .I don’t want to rely on that either”
“I just want to do the job in the car. We have already shown that we can win races anyway .If we do a strong enough job, then I’m pretty sure that the chances are there anyway .”
Leclerc will be hoping to put on a solid fight and an error free race to go ahead in the Drivers championship points table .He is currently placed at No.2 , behind Max Verstappen .
