F1 Championship title leader Max Verstappen was handed a 5 grid penalty after he failed to slow down under double-waved yellow flag and Valtteri Bottas handed with a 3 place grid penalty after he failed to slow down under single-waved yellow flag during Q3 of qualifying session of the Qatar GP 2021.
The stewards announced the penalty just 90 minutes before the start of the race bringing a shuffle in the grid line up ,which makes Pierre Gasly start on the front row of the grid along with Lewis Hamilton .
The stewards also cleared that ,even though Carlos Sainz didn’t see the yellow flag , he had reduced the speed significantly after seeing the stationary car on the pit straight .
