Explained : List of co-morbidities and things you should know for covid-19 vaccine booking .

The Covid-19 vaccine is now eligible for people aged above 60 years and those above 45 years with co-morbidities .

List of Co-morbidities :

  1. Heart failure with hospital admission in past one year.
  2. Post cardiac transplant /left ventricular assist device .
  3. Significant left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
  4. Valvular heart disease.
  5. Congenital artery disease with past CABG/PTCA/MI and hypertension/diabetes on treatment .
  6. Angina and hypertension /diabetes on treatment .
  7. recorded stroke and hypertension/diabetes on treatment .
  8. Pulmonary artery hypertension and hypertension/diabetes on treatment.
  9. Diabetes (.10 years or with complications ) and hypertension on treatment.
  10. Kidney /liver/hematopoietic stem cell transplant : recipient/on wait-list.
  11. End-stage kidney disease on hemodialysis/CAPD .
  12. Prolonged use of oral corticosteroids/immunosuppressant medications.
  13. Decomposed cirrhosis.
  14. Severe respiratory disease with hospitalizations in last 2 years.
  15. Lymphoma/leukemia/myeloma.
  16. Diagnosis of any solid cancer on or after July 1,2020 ,or currently on any cancer therapy .
  17. Sickle cell disease/bone marrow failure/Aplastic anemia/thalassemia major .
  18. Primary immunodeficiency diseases/HIV infection.

Covid-19 Vaccine registration process :

A person who fulfills the above criteria can register themselves at cowin.gov.in .

  • The user has to enter their mobile number and it will be validated through an OTP.
  • They will be asked to provide any ID proof ( Aadhar card, electoral identity card ,driving license ,Passport ,PAN card,NPR smart card or pension document with photograph ) .
  • Then ,they have to select the timeslot in the vaccination center of their choice .Once selected ,the appointment will be shared as SMS to their mobile number as confirmation.
  • Persons aged above 45 should bring the required proof showing their co-morbidities.
  • Each registered person can register for a maximum of 3 more person .
  • They have the choice to reschedule their appointment time .
  • Once the vaccine is taken , the appointment will be automatically scheduled after 28 days for the 2nd dose .

The users have the option to delete their registrations before taking the vaccine ,but once the vaccine is taken data will be locked and stored .

Persons who are not eligible for Covid-19 Vaccine :

  • Lactating women ,pregnant women and women who are not sure of their pregnancy .
  • Person with allergic reaction to injecting therapies.
  • Persons with allergic reaction for 1st dose of covid19 vaccine.
