The honey badger turns 33 today ! Daniel Ricciardo made his F1 debut for HRT at Silverstone in 2011 . Since then , he has 1 podium and 9 British GP points to his name .

After a frustrating Canadian GP , Daniel Ricciardo is looking for a strong performance in British GP this weekend .He praised the team’s hard work going on at McLaren HQ .

Daniel said , “I know the team has been working on trying to dial the car in more .Canada wasn’t a strong weekend for us, so the team have been going through a lot of stuff. This includes technical meetings, working on pit-stops – and generally just working around the clock to get better.

“For us and my engineering team, it was sim work, trying different set-ups and trying to nail this car. I think we’ve got a better understanding of the car – particularly in the last few races, where I’ve been able to find a bit more of a setup that I am comfortable with.

“It’s been good. We know our weaknesses – they’re not overnight fixes, but we know the direction to go in and where to develop the car in the next few months.”

With Silverstone being McLaren’s home race , Daniel will enjoy the support from the sea of papaya . He said , “”I think everyone likes being at home .The team have always got some family in the paddock or in the stands, so that is cool, and I think we appreciate not jumping on a flight for a race too.

Zak Brown clears the air on Ricciardo :

McLaren CEO Zak Brown cleared the air of his criticism on Daniel Ricciardo last month. He said , he just gave an honest answer to a question of how things are going with Ricciardoand revealed that he is having a great relationship with Daniel Ricciardo .

Zak Brown said , “Daniel has shown, like he did in Monza last year, when we give him a car that suits his driving style and has pace that he’s going to go out and lead laps and win a race.

“I think we need to have a car that’s a little bit more performant and user friendly, and he’ll get the job done.”

He then added , “We’ve had some awesome weekends like Monza [in 2021], and then some disappointing weekends, and coming back to our car, I don’t think we’re giving our drivers a car that’s capable of being at the front on a regular basis.

“We’re going to work hard and make sure that they do in the future.”
