Charles Leclerc takes dramatic Pole for Spanish GP after spinning in Q3

Championship leader Charles Leclerc spun out in Q3 , who then had limited time to create a flawless lap to clinch the pole position from Verstappen .

Verstappen who was on his flying lap , lost power at the final stages of Q3 and stayed P2. Carlos Sainz finished P3 behind Verstappen .

Aston Martin’s Sebastian vettel (P16) and Lance Stroll (P18) were eliminated in Q1. Alpine’s Home hero Alonso was only able to qualify P17.Both William’s drivers Alex Albon (P19) and Nicholas Latifi (P20) were also eliminated in Q1.

Zhou Guanyu (P15), Pierre Gasly (P14), Yuki Tsunoda (P13) , Esteban Ocon (P12) and Lando Norris (P11) were eliminated in Q2 . Lando Norris had his Q2 lap time deleted for Turn 12 track limit infringement .

Valtteri Bottas finished P7 . Both the Haas drivers made it to Q3 , Kevin Magnussen (P8) and Mick Schumacher (P10). Mick Schumacher made it into Q3 for the first time .

2021 Spanish Grand Prix pole setter Lewis Hamilton qualified P6 , Sergio Perez qualified P5 and George Russell qualified P4.
