The statement from F1 read ,” Formula 1 can confirm it has terminated its contract with the Russian Grand Prix promoter.It means that Russia will no longer have a race in the future.”
The termination of contract is in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 2022.
Earlier on February 25 , F1 cancelled Russian GP which was scheduled to happen between September 23rd to 25th 2022.
Russian GP was due to move from Sochi Autodromto Igora Drive near Saint Petersburg from 2023.
Russian GP has been a happy hunting ground for Mercedes .All the seven races starting from 2014 have been won by Mercedes .Lewis Hamilton won five races and Valteri Bottas won two races .
