A rumor circulated the social media stating that Williams Racing is up for sale . Volkswagen group’s Porsche is rumored to purchase or collaborate with Williams Racing.
Porsche deleted all its Formula E post in Instagram and put on a message , which read ,“Start your engines. Something big is coming,” . The message created speculation about Dorilton Capital looking to sell the team .
However a Williams spokesperson cleared the air around rumor’s and denied that its organization is up for sale.
He said,”The rumors that Williams Racing is up for sale are inaccurate .
“We are open to any discussions regarding the supply of engines with manufacturers from 2026 when the new engine regulations come in.
“We are happy with our relationship with Mercedes[who has supplied Williams with engines since 2014] and appreciate all their efforts.”
Dorilton Capital bought the historic Williams F1 team from the Williams family for a €152m (£136.5m) deal in 2020.
Porsche is looking to enter F1 in 2026 . It was in talks with Red Bull last year for a possible collaboration , but the talks ended with no partnership .
