A portion of Nandadevi glacier broke off and caused a massive flooding of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers today ( 07-02-2021).
7 people are killed and more than 125 are feared missing .
The disaster is caused due to global warming and increasing temperatures in the Himalayan regions . The rescue operation is currently halted and will be resuming tomorrow morning .The chief minister has announced 4 lakhs to the next of kin of the victims .
