Juri Vips was suspended by Red Bull over use of racist language in Twitch stream .
Though Vips offered an unconditional apology , Red Bull terminated his contract earlier this month . Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner revealed that the agreement has been cancelled but the team will keep him under its junior development program .
Horner said , “We have cancelled our agreement with him and that will undoubtedly give him time for reflection .Everybody at some point deserves a second chance, if they can show that they have really learnt from their mistakes.
“He is a young guy, a young kid, and we will be supporting him – even though he has had his agreement terminated – from a mental health and educational perspective. Hopefully, he will learn from it.”
F1 world champion Max Verstappen also was in support for providing a second chance to Juri Vips . Max said , ” He [Juri Vips] is not part of Oracle Red Bull Racing as a reserve and test driver.
“I do feel people deserve a second chance. Probably not a third but some things can be easily said, sometimes not even really thought about how badly you can hurt someone.”
But current advisor to Red Bull Helmut Marko clarified that Juri Vips will no longer receive any support from Red Bull . He said , “I want to be clear – Juri Vips no longer receives any support from Red Bull .You need to be responsible for your actions and as a result, our cooperation has ended.”
With the confirmation from Marko , it is confirmed that Juri Vips relationship with Red Bull F1 team is officially over .
