With Mercedes topping the timing sheet in both the practice session , Red Bull boss Christian Horner calls Red Bull’s pace encouraging .

“The circuit is a little tighter than the data suggested ; the corners are a little bit tighter ,so it’s not all the emphasis on horsepower that we thought it would be – and that’s encouraging .” said Horner .

Mercedes leads the F1 constructor title by five points ahead of Red Bull racing and Max Verstappen leads the F1 Championship title ahead of Lewis Hamilton by eight points .

Red Bull said they are approaching the Saudi Arabian GP with a “cup final” mentality .Though Sergio Perez had a disappointing practice session, Red Bull are optimistic to find the right balance and the right pace before the race .

“I think there is plenty more to come tomorrow,” said Perez. “Hopefully we are able to find the right balance, the right pace, to be in contention tomorrow.

“It’s going to be tricky; I think the qualifying with the traffic management, it’s going to be trying to be there at the right place, you know? I think you saw a bit what happened when everyone was on the soft tyre at the end. It can get very tricky, very messy, very quickly. And then on the long run we didn’t get enough laps to get a read.”

Earlier Max Verstappen in an interview said that he is not feeling any pressure ahead of the first ever Saudi Arabian GP .“It’s just been of course a great year for us. We had a lot of good moments and it’s more enjoyable. Last year was pretty boring for me, because basically all the time I was just in third… so there wasn’t much happening for me. In a way it’s not how you like to race but that sometimes happens when one team is of course very dominant, and that’s why I think this year we turned it around well, we improved the car, and to be in this title fight to the end I think is very impressive from our side.

“And of course, I’ll try to keep enjoying the last two races. It doesn’t matter where we end up; we’ve had a really, really good season as a team,” he concluded.
