Brazilian state of Sao Paulo has ordered Apple to start shipping chargers along with iphones . Apple removed chargers from its iphone 12 series ,iphone 11 ,XR phones stating reduction in carbon emission.
Procon-SP,the consumer protection agency of Sao Paulo state asked Apple to provide a proper explanation for removing the charger .Apple justified its decision by claiming to reduce carbon emission by removing the charger there by saving environment .It also said consumers already have a charger at their home.
However, Procon-SP was not satisfied with their explanation and ordered Apple to ship chargers in all the boxes stating charger is important for a mobile and Apple doesn’t support warranty to faults occurred while using 3rd party chargers .Currently this order is limited to Sao Paulo state .National Consumer Secretary of Brazil is expecting to implement this order through out the country .
